Binge Drinking in Women

bingedrinkThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released their most current report on binge drinking in women with the following statistics:

  • About 1 in 8 women aged 18 years and older binge drink
  • 1 in 5 high school girls binge drink
  •  Women who binge drink do so frequently – about 3 times a month – and have about 6 drinks per binge.

CDC considers binge drinking a serious women’s health issue.  The January 2013 issue of CDC’s Vital Signs includes detailed information on:

  • What Can Be Done
