EndNote Elucidations: Sharing libraries

from opensourceway on flickr.com

Happy Monday, persons of quality!  Many of you in the vast U-M community are using EndNote to manage your citations and often send us a call for help when you have questions or problems. I though I would share the answers to some of these questions, in the hopes that they will be useful to many of you. So, keep an eye out for EndNote Elucidations, to be periodically posted on Mondays.

Question: I’m collaborating with a co-worker on a paper, but I can’t open the EndNote library the person sent me. What’s wrong?

Answer: It is very possible that your co-worker is using a different version of EndNote than you.  If, for example, you are using version X4 and your collaborator is using version X5, you will not be able to share a library.  In this case, the best solution might be for one person to do the “EndNoting.”
