PMC (the database formerly known as PubMed Central)

PMC, the database you know and love from depositing open access content is getting an upgrade – a new name to avoid confusion with PubMed, and a new (more streamlined, of course) look.

You’ll now be able to access important links more directly from the article’s front page – for example, author information as well as copyright/licensing information will have prominent links.

Citations will link directly to other relevant articles in PubMed, and hovering over references will display the full citation information.

The full list of upgrades is available in the National Library of Medicine’s Technical Bulletin, which also features handy screenshots demonstrating the new features.
