In preparation for the next phase of the renovation plans for the Taubman Health Sciences Library (THL), the bulk of the print collection will begin moving to a permanent storage location starting on July 9th with an anticipated completion date in September. UM affiliated users will be able to request materials from this collection using 7FAST or the Get This function in Mirlyn, the library’s online catalog. For the general public, items will be delivered from the remote location to any UM library upon request for in-house use. The remaining core THL book collection will remain in a secured area of the building and is available by request only (7FAST, Get This or by asking in person).
What’s leaving? Generally, all of our printed journals and printed books published before 2008.
What’s staying? Printed books published in 2008 or later + high use print books published prior to 2008 + course reserves materials. Additionally our growing collection of e-books (85,000+) and online journals (4200+) remains accessible from on and off campus.
